Grandma’s Super Soft Cake : discover this irresistibly tender family favorite.

Grandma’s Super Soft Cake an easy and traditional cake that she used to make when I was a child ideal to take to the office as a snack. The taste of old-fashioned cakes is definitely better, homemade and reminding us of the smells of childhood. Making my grandmother’s soft apple pie is also easy, just whip the eggs well with the sugar that then that is the real secret and then gradually put the other ingredients. The special feature that makes this cake with apples unique is that she used to put a pinch of nutmeg in it so every time I ate it I was very impressed by how aromatic it tasted.

Ingredients :

  • 260g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 180g (3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons) sugar
  • 120ml (1/2 cup) vegetable oil (or olive oil)
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) milk (at room temperature)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 sachet (2 teaspoons) baking powder
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 3 apples
  • 1 lemon

How to make Grandma’s Super Soft Cake:

  1. Let’s take the apples, peel and slice them, put them in a bowl and add the cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon juice, let macerate 10 minutes.
  2. We whip the eggs with the sugar until frothy and aerated, add the oil in a trickle, the milk and the flour sifted with the lemon. We work for a few minutes with the beater. We add the apple slices (keeping some aside ) and mix with a spatula.
  3. We pour the batter into the lightly buttered and floured mold, add the apple slices on top and bake at 180° static [350°F] or 170° ventilated (340°F) for 45 minutes.
  4. Once ready let’s take it out of the oven and let it cool in the mold then serve.
