One of the most beautiful accessories we can show off on our wrist is definitely the Pandora bracelet which you can customize with the charms we love most. Too bad, though, that it easily tends to blacken, it is very  prone to oxidation. But fear not! Making it like new again is possible! All you have to do is try these tricks to polish your Pandora and pendants quickly and easily!

Bar soap

The first ingredient we suggest is to use bar soap, which boasts very gentle cleaning properties that can clean and polish your Pandora without damaging it. It is also suitable for Murano or stone charms. All you will need to do, then, is fill a bowl with warm water and add some bar soap inside. After that, take out the pendants, soak the pendants and the lace in the bowl and let everything soak for a few minutes.  For stubborn dirt, help yourself with a toothbrush with soft bristles! Finally, remember to always dry with a soft cloth!

Baking soda

Another very effective remedy is to use baking soda, which has a mild abrasive action that can remove oxidation and make your bracelet and pendants shiny again. In a small bowl, then, pour some water and a teaspoon of baking soda. Stir until it is completely dissolved, after which you place the pendants and silver lace in the small bowl and let them soak for about 10 minutes. Finally, wipe with a soft cloth and dry thoroughly-your Pandora will be as good as new!

Lemon juice

After bar soap and baking soda, how could we miss lemon juice, which is able to polish and remove stubborn stains. We remind you, in fact, that it is a godsend as well for making kitchen steel shiny! Then, in bowl containing 1 glass of warm water and the juice of 1 lemon, soak your bracelet for a few hours or overnight. After that, rinse and dry well with a cloth!

Aluminum foil and salt

This may seem like a bit of a weird trick, yet it turns out to be very effective! What are we talking about? The aluminum foil and salt trick to polish our Pandora! So, take a large bowl and cover it with aluminum foil, after which you immerse the bracelet and charms inside it and add some table salt until it is full. At this point, add some hot water (not too hot, mind you!) and stir until the salt has completely dissolved. Let it soak for a few minutes, and finally, take out the remaining charms by blotting them thoroughly with a cloth.

N.B If among your charms some have enamelled surfaces, remove them first. Please be careful about using hot water and not scalding yourself.

Finally, let’s look at one last very effective trick: the toothpaste you commonly use to whiten your teeth! Actually, this product has several uses in the home, including the property of polishing silver.

So, put a small amount of toothpaste on your toothbrush, after which gently rub it on the Pandora, insisting on the most oxidized areas. At this point, leave for a few seconds, after which use clean water to remove the toothpaste.

N.B It is always recommended to remove all traces of toothpaste as it is abrasive and not to use this method if the pendants have gemstones as it may damage them.

How to prevent oxidation

So far, we have seen how to clean and polish Pandora and pendants. But how to do instead to avoid oxidation and prevent it? First of all, we recommend that you clean it often, following the instructions provided by the brand. Also, remember that strong chemicals or silver polishing products cannot be used to clean this bracelet. Equally important is not to store it in damp places such as the bathroom or kitchen but to always keep it in a closed bag protected from the air and in a dark space when not in use. Finally, remember to remove it when you wash your hands or when you come in contact with salt water from the sea, when you swim and when you do household cleaning with harsh detergents such as bleach or ammonia.

Remember that it is very important to follow the directions provided by the brand and to prefer the gentlest methods.
