Encrusted kitchen fires are to be counted among the most difficult aspects to deal with when you want to thoroughly clean your cooktop. In fact, the stains given by the flames along with general fouling are a pretty tough obstacle in cleaning and also take a considerable amount of time! Fortunately, however, there are many natural remedies that can help make them shiny and like new again. Today we’ll look together at a DIY cleaning cream that will make fires and saucers super clean and shiny!

Ingredients

The first thing to do is definitely to get all the ingredients needed to make our cleaning cream! Don’t worry, you will only need ingredients that are already in your home or easy to find. Here is what you will need:

  • Half a loaf of yellow soap
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  • water to taste.

These are just the elements that will help you have fires and saucers as good as new. In fact, yellow soap is used very often in the kitchen to solve various chores such as dirt on the drainer or for steel. As for baking soda, on the other hand, we are talking about a product that we could call the “star” of natural remedies, which is precisely why it is used in all areas of the house and even in the kitchen!

Procedure

Having taken all the ingredients, we just have to go straight to the procedure! Put the half a loaf of soap in a non-stick saucepan with about 2 tablespoons of water so it doesn’t stick. The flame must be low, otherwise you can alter the composition of the soap, which should slowly melt completely. Once it has become liquid, add the baking soda little by little and stir until you get a smooth cream with a fairly thick consistency. If you see that it is too liquid, you will need to add a little more baking soda and that’s it!

How to use the cream

All we need to do at this point is to get a good understanding of how to use the cream to make the burners and saucers shiny again and have an enviable cooktop! What you will need to do is to get a sponge that is not too aggressive and spread the previously prepared cream on top, make it adhere well on the screen and then rub it vigorously. You will see that as you rub as you go, all the stains and black will be gone in no time. You will need to rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly.

In case the fires and saucers are particularly dirty, I recommend that you dampen them under a little water, then degrease them by always putting the cream on the sponge and leave it on for quite a while so that the dirt of can be removed more effectively. Afterwards go and scrub again and rinse–they will be perfect again!

Alternatives for fires

DIY cream is a great method, but let’s also look at alternatives for cleaning fires and saucers! Some of the most effective and popular methods include:

  • Alcohol vinegar: an excellent natural descaler, you will simply need to soak all the pieces in water and 2 cups of vinegar, then degrease and rinse.
  • Lemon juice: similar to vinegar, lemon juice is also a great help. You’ll need to use half a lemon as if it were a natural sponge with a little baking soda on top and rub it on fires and saucers.
  • Fine salt: dissolve 1 tablespoon of the product in very little water so you have a kind of cleaning gel, put it on a sponge and use it to degrease all the pieces.

Warnings

We always recommend trying the described remedies on unseen corners to make sure they will not stain or damage.
