One spoonful of just one ingredient is enough to get rid of the problem of a clogged and blocked toilet: stop using hydrochloric acid forever.
Anyone who has ever faced plumbing problems at home knows that having a friend as a plumber is a great fortune, hard to find and very busy. But let’s see what solution we have for a “dirty job” like a clogged toilet.
Clogged and encrusted toilet: why it happens
Wondering about it after the inconvenience occurred does not bring much comfort, but we need to know that it is a problem that we can avoid in the first place. How. Avoid flushing everything you should not in the toilet. An example of this are the classic cotton swabs, which, for those who do not know, end up in the unsorted garbage. The fact that the stick is made of plastic does not automatically make it a recyclable item, since it is not packaging.
But one cotton swab after another, combined with wipes to remove makeup and even worse sanitary napkins, along with an excessive amount of toilet paper could lead to that nasty blockage that causes the toilet water does not drain. The latter is one of the most common causes when we are dealing with water that does not flow at the “desired speed”.
Another cause could be that there is not enough water coming out of the toilet holes. In this case, the cause could be limestone that prevents the passage completely or partially. In this case, it would be sufficient to clean the holes with special or natural products such as vinegar or bicarbonate, as well as manually.
If the problem comes from the cistern and it is inside the wall, it is urgent to call the plumber; in the case of the external cistern, you can check if everything is in order. If the water does not have enough pressure, it will not be able to remove the debris. Or the pipe is also clogged, and we can try to clear it with anti-scale products such as vinegar or even degreasing detergent.
Just one ingredient to solve the problem
If you are facing certain problems, think of the extreme solution: using hydrochloric acid. This is an extremely caustic and dangerous chemical that can even backfire and cause further damage. Not to mention its environmentally damaging effect in nature.
Now, when faced with a “dirty problem”, we can act by arming ourselves with a good pair of rubber gums, the resistant one, and start draining as much as possible the excess water that does not drain away and pour in a generous amount of boiling water. A product with which we can help the heat of the water is dishwashing detergent, without overdoing it, put a spoonful or two in the cup and leave for at least 30 minutes.
In this case we rely on the degreasing action of this product that can act on certain blockages. So, arm yourself with a drain cleaner, put the suction cup on the hole and create a vacuum effect that is able to bring the clog to the surface, which then naturally disappears removed by hand.
An additional trick is to put baking soda and salt in a cup with both products. Put them in the cup and let them soak for about twenty minutes. Finally, pour boiling water down the drain.
If, despite our efforts, we do not manage to clear the toilet, we just have to call the plumber, trust in a quick intervention and equip the bathroom with a small waste container to collect what should not be thrown into the toilet.
