Household appliances are more present in our homes than ever. It is therefore important to take care of them as much as possible, especially when the first yellow spots appear. A good cleaning tip would therefore be appreciated! Here’s an article that comes at just the right time. Yellow stains on appliances are often unsightly and, above all, a real cleaning challenge. Fortunately, there are many ways to get rid of it.  Here are our tips to combat this problem.

How can you brighten up the yellowed plastic on your home appliances?

If you care at all about the appearance of your home, you probably have to be sensitive to the appearance of your appliances. However, they struggle to survive the ravages of time. Washing machines, refrigerators, or even microwaves are all appliances that can go from white to yellow… and let’s face it, it’s anything but aesthetically pleasing! Fortunately, it is possible to solve this problem, even if it seems irreversible, with simple means without the use of chemicals. What if we told you how to whiten the yellowed plastic of your household appliances with toothpaste? Unlikely, you say! Granted, but this trick is worth the detour.

Toothpaste is the most practical solution to lighten the yellowed plastic of your refrigerator, microwave or fridge. To do this, get yourself a whitening toothpaste.  You’ll see the rest is a breeze!

  • Apply your whitening toothpaste to a toothbrush that you no longer use;
  • Add a little water to the toothpaste;
  • Run the toothbrush in a circular motion over the yellowed areas. This will make it easier to remove the stain;
  • Leave the toothpaste on for 15 to 20 minutes;
  • Remove the toothpaste with a soft, slightly damp cloth;
  • Dry with a dry cloth. Voila, your equipment is now snow white!

If the result does not meet your expectations, you can repeat the process, but this time prepare a mixture of toothpaste and baking soda. The latter is considered an excellent ecological stain remover but is mainly known as a household product par excellence. Just be careful not to scrub too hard. Bicarbonate is slightly abrasive. Also note that the toothbrush is a key element. It makes it possible to reach hard-to-reach places: Knobs, gaps, joints … and more.

  • Rinse with a damp cloth and let dry. It’s hard to make it easier…! Feel free to repeat the process if you feel it is necessary.

Clean yellowed equipment with white vinegar
