With the so-called organic fertilization, it is actually possible to fertilize plants in a completely natural way.

The name suggests the use of completely natural raw materials, which benefits both the environment, since chemical compounds are avoided, and the wallet, since they are usually very inexpensive methods. Often it is the plants that need fertilizing most urgently purchased. Often due to improper treatment or simply due to changes in location and exposure, the newly purchased plants are generally under stress and need a good dose of vitamins and minerals. And some will be surprised to learn that even succulents are not free from fertilization. All our plants need is nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and nutrients. But where can we find all these minerals that are useful for our plants? Simple, in a widely consumed fruit, or rather in its peel: the banana. So, let’s see how it is possible to make an effective fertilizer for all types of plants at home in a short time and for free.

Use the banana as fertilizer

A fruit rich in nutrients and mineral salts not only for people but also for plants. The banana peel is perfect as a fertilizer, since it retains the intrinsic properties of the fruit. All you need to make your own organic fertilizer are a few banana peels. The preparation is really very simple, all you need to do is cut the peels into small pieces and put them in a container. Then pour a quart of water, cover everything and let it sit for at least 3 hours. After this time, get a strainer and transfer the liquid into a bottle or container. Keep the peels, which you can then use as compost or dispose of in organic waste. After three hours of maceration, the banana peels will have released all their nutrients into the water, and you will have an excellent fertilizer with which to water your plants.

You can alternate the use of homemade fertilizer with regular watering, using it every 15 days or so. In a short time, you will see your plants lush and most importantly with enviable flowers. You can also rest assured that although the raw material is banana, the compound does not attract insects or mosquitoes.
