They crystallize around the faucet and get rid of annoyingly difficult. There are endless specific products on the market, but more or less they contain chemical agents that act on the limestone, breaking it up. However, all this is not only at the expense of a family, but on the planet, which is flooded with environmentally harmful products. In reality , we can use products that allow us to achieve the same result once well positioned and active .
Why wrap a bag over the faucet?
Faucets and shower heads are the most affected by blockages due to limescale, this also makes it difficult for water to flow. A simple and quick way to eliminate this problem in this case is to use a very banal plastic bag and some ingredients, which everyone has in his kitchen: White wine vinegar and baking soda. We first open a fairly resistant plastic bag, into which we pour two glasses of white wine vinegar and 4/5 tablespoons of baking soda. Immediately the two products start a bubbling reaction. We are ready to tie the plastic bag to the faucet so that its filter is completely immersed in the solution. Ideally, it should be soaked overnight for the most effective action, but you can try leaving it on for a few hours. Once the time has passed and the bag has been removed, start scrubbing the faucet and every part of it with an old toothbrush. In this way we can eliminate all the small pieces of limestone that have not yet dissolved. Once the faucet is opened to drain the water, other particles of lime can be removed, and the faucet will shine again. Vinegar is a perfect ingredient for removing limescale layers and because of its properties it is also used as a descaler for washing machines and dishwashers.
For this method we can also use citric acid, another powerful natural lime remover. In this case, the plastic bag contains 2 glasses of water and 5 tablespoons of citric acid. A spoonful of baking soda makes this solution even more effective. The procedure is the same as the one presented and to act before. The next day, when the bag is removed, the taps will shine again. Citric acid can also be used to clean sanitary ceramics due to its brightening properties.
